Hey I'm a bassist/guitar player from Bristol, UK, on exchange for the year to the University of Auckland. I'm quite new in town, but I'm here until June 2016 so got some time to get into a casual band setup. My band at home was how I spent most of my time and before we got scattered across the world things were going well, starting from when we won the local battle of the bands and used the recording time to get down some of our original songs and get some gigs around town whenever possible.

So far I only have an acoustic guitar in Auckland because I couldn't afford to ship my instruments to NZ but would be ready to buy a bass if I had a band to play it in. Genres I'm interested in would be hard to get down in this space, but a rough outline would be funk, rock, blues and the odd bit of prog rock, not adverse to hard rock and metal or going more jazzy, I'm down for anything really.

I study Mechanical Engineering so am quite busy with work and will be planning to travel around the country while I'm here, but regular practices and the occasional gig would be great, preferably original material but you've got to start somewhere so covers are also a good way to fill a set.
