Covers Vocals from Waikato
Musical background/family my Father playing bass for Peter Posa, Red Hewitt & The Bucaneers plus other bands on the scene in Auckland mostly during the sixties/seventies. I began playing bass at 14 and have played in covers, pop, soul, blues bands in NZ and Australia - but always had a persistent desire to sing...
Made a commitment to acting on this on my return from Australia mid 90's, undertook some lessons and put a covers band (Velocity) together for much rehearsing and then out to gigging. The band finished up a couple of years later. A few years ago I was asked to get involved in a musical event - and that re-ignited my passion for music and performance.
I started my own covers band (SideHustle) and had our debut at Biddy Mulligans in Hamilton in May 2020. The lockdowns threw a big spanner in the works, but we continued to to develop in the background. We were very successful in our endeavour and in demand. At the beginning of the second lockdown we were booked out a year in advance.
We returned to live music as soon as we could and continued back on the gigs circuit, until recently when the band dis-banded.
I am comfortable in baritone but spend virtually a majority of material in tenor, and do have a falsetto in my range, meaning my versatility across a range of genres is in good shape. I am dedicated and professional in my approach, and am a practicing student of Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy for the past few years.
I cover anything from 70's funk through to Metallica and plenty in between, and LOVE live performance, I am very passionate, energetic and engaging with audiences and band members. Refer our website for more insight into material covered to date.

I am now looking towards joining and existing band/project with similar approach, experience and professionalism to my own, rather than start another band myself. I'm based in the Waikato, but happy to travel to Auckland or within a 1.5 hour radius of Hamilton to connect and make a commitment to the right next opportunity.. :)
