Gigging band looking for singer keyboardist

Hi, we were recently a 4-piece band (drums, bass, singer/guitarist, singer/keyboardist) that has lost its singer/keyboardist. We are looking to replace him, with another singer/keyboard player.

We are a rock band and play mostly classic and modern rock.

Importantly, we are looking for someone with experience. Our next gig is in late April, so we are looking to get set before then.

Regarding the singing, the idea is that you would be singing something like half of the songs (or more) and also sing backing etc when the other singer is up. If you are worried that you might not be ready by the end of April, no worries. If you can get about 10-15 songs under your belt by then, we are good to go and you can learn more as we go on.

Regarding the singing, if you are a bloke, it is important that you have the range to sing at least most of the following songs, as they are amongst out most popular and are songs that we cannot cover with the three of us: Sweet Child of Mine (Guns and Roses), Livin on a Prayer (Bon Jovi, though we can change the end which is stupidly high!), I was Made for Loving You (Kiss), Message in a Bottle (The Police). If you can sing these, I’m pretty confident you can handle the rest of our repertoire.

Regarding keys, you need to be able to hold your own to help fill out our sound and be able to play the occasional fill part (eg the bridge in I Got You by Split Enz and also in Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears). Obviously, if you can do that stuff no worries and also want to be able to solo, ad lib, etc, fantastic. You would need keys with at least a piano and a synth sound.

Also transport.

We practice in Henderson in a venue owned by one of the band members in which you can leave gear, etc, if you want. It is a godsend not having to set up drums, PA, etc each week.

We are three blokes in our 50s and early 60s, keen on enjoying ourselves with friends, but also committed to being good musicians and giving the audience our best. We have a good relationship with a promotor and are currently getting plenty of offers for gigs as we are receiving very positive feedback from the audiences and venues we play for. Our current situation means that we are having to pull back, but the indications are that when we are back up and running, we should be able to gig at least once a month immediately and soon more often than that (and yes, these are paid gigs). We have quite a bit of ambition for the future of the band.

We have a very good PA and lots of high-quality lighting, etc. We also sometimes play a bit out of town, but we can carpool for that if that is an issue.

If you join us, you will definitely have a say in new songs we learn, etc. We work things out as a team.
