Brit looking to join an all-expat band

Hello, I am a Brit looking to join an all-expat band ('The Expats?', or something more original, ha ha) in the Wellington Region playing expat music.
Something different, but does not have to be professional, mostly for meeting up, learning some of your fav songs from home, and maybe playing a gig at a friend's wedding, etc. I am open to gigging regularly, and I have the experience for this, but no big deal if not.
I'm in my 50s, with a good few years in NZ, been playing bass since school bands, although it's been a at least a year since I picked it up. I can play a bit of guitar, but no real background in it. We would need, I guess a guitarist, a drummer (I'm thinking about learning, but it will also take years) and, unless we are doing Tubular Bells, you on vocals.
