I am a seasoned bass player whose journey began in London around the turn of the millennium.
Immersing myself in the city’s vibrant blues scene, I gigged with local groups, developing a reputation for tight, reliable grooves and a natural feel for rhythm.
My playing style blends traditional blues foundations with a modern edge, anchoring ensembles with both steadiness and flair.
After returning to New Zealand in 2005, I became a driving force in the local blues community.
I contributed to multiple recordings and toured extensively across New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, and played several festivals, clubs and venues in the United States.
I take pride in an ability to lock in with drummers, creating a rhythm section that powers both original compositions and classic blues standards.
Though professional commitments have led me to step back from regular performing for a time, my passion for live music remains undiminished.
I enjoy trying to embody the heart of blues bass playing: understated, essential, and deeply connected to the groove.
