Chowringhee

Chowringhee, established in October 2020, has quickly established itself as a unique presence in Auckland's music scene, specializing in Bengali rock music.
Comprising members Krittibas Dasgupta (vocals and lead guitar), Roopam Chowdhury (vocals and bass), Tanya Majumdar (rhythm guitar), and Snehashis Das (drums), our band brings a vibrant and authentic sound that resonates deeply with the Bengali community specifically and rock music enthusiasts in general. Over the years, Chowringhee has performed seven successful shows in Auckland and Hamilton, connecting with audiences and helping them engage with their
cultural roots. This connection was further shown by the enthusiastic reception of our eponymous debut album, which was released coinciding with our first show in 2023 and saw immediate sales at the launch. To date, we have recorded and released six songs, with another soon to be released. Our second album is in the pipeline for release in early 2025.
