Country - Bass Player + 2nd Guitar Player Wanted

We are a country covers group in the Wellington area building a repertoire of country songs to play live.

Rehearsals got underway recently, with work beginning on new cover songs. We currently have three members, but we are looking to include more musicians in the group.

If you are a bass player, or a guitar player who can play acoustic and electric guitar, have at least some experience playing country material, have more than a passing interest in country as a genre, and want more experience playing in this genre with others, this could be a good fit for you.

So far, we have some of the vocals and rhythm section roles established, but there more opportunities for musicians with the right interests and specialties.

Do you have any of these skills (at an intermediate or higher level)?
- Bass Guitar
- Guitar (ideally someone who can can share rhythm and lead roles with another guitar player in the band, can play acoustic and electric guitar, and is interested in country guitar playing styles and sounds).

Some other nice to haves:
- Piano/Keyboard
- Steel/Pedal-Steel Guitar
- Fiddle
- Other (e.g. banjo, mandolin, accordion — get in touch if you have an ideas or want to find out more).

We are working to build up a good repertoire of country hits and classics from the late 1960s to the 2020s and work professionally as a live band. We want to have a full band sound (i.e. a band with the same rhythm section foundation as any rock group). We want to do energetic songs, a few lower-key ballads, and enough range of material to cater to different age groups and tastes.

There is a growing market for quality live country music in the New Zealand music scene. And about time.

This band would be suitable for people based in areas like Wellington city, Porirua, Wairarapa, Hutt Valley, Kapiti or Horowhenua and who are willing to do some travel (e.g. for rehearsals, and in future, gigs — country music festivals, music venues, pubs, clubs and other events).
